Principal Investigator - Vesna Lukić, Ph.D., is a Principal Research Fellow at the Institute of Social Sciences (ISS), Demographic Research Center. She graduated with a degree in Geography from the University of Belgrade in 1997, where she obtained her PhD degree in 2008. Her academic career started at the Geographical institute “Jovan Cvijić“ Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts where she worked from 1999 to 2010. Her areas of research interest are internal and international migration. She also dealt with the issue of immigrant integration and immigration policies, as well as the effects of the Covid –19 pandemic on temporary migrants from Serbia. She has published a large number of scientific papers in relevant international and national journals. She is a member of the Committee for Population Studies - Department of Social Studies of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, European Association for Population Studies (EAPS) as well as Demographic Society of Serbia. Dr. Lukić was involved in the project as a thematic expert and manager of one of the work packages „Managing Migration and its Effects in South-East Europe” (SEEMIG) with a focus on migration, human capital, and demographic processes, financed by the European Union within the Transnational Cooperation Program for Southeastern Europe (2012-2014). As a thematic expert, she was also involved in the projects: „Improving Institutional Capacities and Fostering Cooperation to Tackle the Impacts of Transnational Youth Migration" (YOUMIG), financed by the European Union within the Danube Transnational Program Interreg (2017–2019), and „Establishment of Efficient System for Prevention and Suppression of Illegal Migrations on the Territory of the Republic of Serbia”, financed by IPA 2010 (2013–2014).

Dr. Jasna Petrić graduated as the Spatial Planner from Geography Department, Faculty of Sciences, University of Belgrade in 1999. Following the undergraduate studies, she received a scholarship by the Faculty of Engineering, University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, UK to continue with her PhD studies and there she got her PhD in Architecture and Building Science in 2003. Since August 2004, Dr. Jasna Petrić has been employed as the researcher in Belgrade, in the Institute of Architecture and Urban & Spatial Planning of Serbia (IAUS), within its Centre for Spatial Development and Environment. Since 2021 she holds the scientific title Principal Research Fellow. She is a President of the Scientific Council of IAUS (since January 2022), member of the Committee for gaining scientific titles in the Serbian Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation (since December 2022), President of the Publishing Council of IAUS (since April 2015), and Editor-in-Chief of „SPATIUM”, which is the national journal of international sigificance (category M24 in Serbia) (since June 2020). She holds a license as a Chartered Spatial Planner by the Serbian Chamber of Engineers (since 2010). She was elected as a judge in the Court of honour of the Serbian Chamber of Engineers (since October 2019). In her scientific achievements, Dr. Jasna Petrić is concerned with integral and interdisciplinary research in the scope of sustainable urban and regional development, strategic thinking and governance, residential preferences, socioeconomic analyses and projections. She is the author of more than 90 scientific publications. So far, she participated as the researcher in 6 projects financed by the Serbian Ministry in charge for scientific research, as well as on 4 international scientific research projects, which were financed by the European INTERREG, FP7, and HORIZON 2020 programmes. She was the leader of national scientific research project III in the period 2011 – 2019, entitled: “The role and implementation of the national spatial plan and regional development documents in renewal of strategic research, thinking and governance in Serbia”, which engaged 29 researchers from 5 SROs. She participated as the leader or team member from IAUS in development of more than 30 spatial and urban plans, studies and strategies.

Snežana Stojšin (Novi Sad, Serbia) doctorate in the field of methodology at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Novi Sad at the Department of Sociology. Since 2019, she has been an associate professor for the scientific field of Sociology at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Novi Sad. She teaches at all three levels of study at the Department of Sociology. She also teaches at the basic studies of Communication and Public Relations, Cultural Studies and Social Work, and at the master's studies of Communication. Her main fields of scientific research are methodology of scientific research, demographic processes and structures, internal migration, and rural youth research. She is a member of the European Sociological Association (ESA), the Serbian Sociological Society, and the SSD Presidency (2019 -). Since 2023, she is the editor-in-chief of the magazine Sociological Review. She is a member of the Editorial Board of the journal Metodički vidici of the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Novi Sad. She is a member of several program and organizational committees of conferences with international participation or conferences of national importance, and in cooperation with her colleagues, she edited the proceedings of the scientific conferences Society and Space and Social Development and Demographic Changes. She is the author of over 50 scientific works published in the country and abroad and two monographs. As a researcher, she participated in several scientific research projects financed by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia. Since 2021, she has been participating in the project Matica srpska Serbian village between tradition and constant changes, which is financed by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia and the Provincial Secretariat for Higher Education and Scientific Research of AP Vojvodina. Since 2021, she has been participating in a research project Sociological study on the position of Serbian students in Vienna supported by the Representation of the Republic of Srpska in Vienna, the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Austria and Matica Srpska.

Nena Vasojević is Research Associate at Institute of Social Sciences (ISS), Centre for Sociological and Anthropological Research since 2021. She defended her multidisciplinary doctoral dissertation "Application of Human Resources: The Impact of Scholars Studying Abroad on the Development of Serbia" in January 2019 at the University of Belgrade. She has gained a Master of Teaching degree at Faculty of Pedagogical Sciences. As a holder of a scholarship of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development in 2014, she was a project associate at the Mihajlo Pupin Institute, Center for Research and Development of Science and Technology. March 2017, she was engaged as a scholarship holder of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development on a project at the Innovation Center of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Belgrade. Since March 2017 to December 2021, she has been employed as a research associate at the Innovation Center of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Belgrade. 1995 graduated from the Faculty of Philology at the University of Belgrade; 1990-1993 Studied at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade, Department of Ethnology and Anthropology; 2002 Master of Science at the Faculty of Economics, University of Belgrade; 2015 Doctoral degree of the Faculty of Economics, University of Belgrade. Since 1997, she has been employed as a researcher at the Institute of Social Sciences, Belgrade. Her research field and expertise are social, cultural and economic geography, migration, demography. Her expertise includes the interlink between migration, demographics, the labour market and human capital processes, especially in South-East Europe. Her current research focuses on the migration of skills, transnational entrepreneurship, and factors influencing talent attraction back to the country of origin. Her research interests are also related to effects of Covid-19 Pandemic on temporary and circular migrants from Serbia and Western Balkans. Author and co-author of more than 60 scientific papers, three monographs, and several chapters in books of international importance. She is a member of the Society of Demographers of Serbia and the Committee for Emigration and Diaspora Research of Matica Srpska. She participated in numerous projects of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia, such as: • Research of demographic phenomena in the function of public policies in Serbia" (47006) (2011-2019); Demographic assumptions and perspectives of the development of the population of Serbia in the conditions of modern socio-economic processes (2006-2010); Transition of Serbian society and economy in the process of globalization and regionalization - directions of change and applied models" (2003-2005); Development of the population of Serbia 1991-1997 (1999); Population of Serbia at the end of the 20th century: state, tendencies, problems (1996-2000). Main international projects related to international migration: • COST action CA 21143 TraFaDy Transnational Family Dynamics in Europe (2022-2026), financed within the EU Horizon 2020 program. He is the leader of TraFaDy Working Group 5 “Talking across disciplines: methodological issues in TNF research and data collection”. • Managing Migration and its Effects in South-East Europe - SEEMIG - transnational activities towards strategies based on documentation, European Union within the Transnational Cooperation Program for SE Europe (2012-2014), head of thematic work of the ISS team on the project and deputy project manager of the ISS team. • • Improving Institutional Capacities and Fostering Cooperation to Tackle the Impacts of Transnational Youth Migration - YOUMIG), head of the thematic work of the ISS team on the project and deputy project manager of the ISS team. Milica Vesković Anđelković is Assistant Professor at Faculty of Philosophy, University in Belgrade, department for sociology (https://www.f.bg.ac.rs/sociologija/zaposleni_od?IDZ=914 ). Also, she is engaged as researcher at Institute for Sociological Research (https://isi.f.bg.ac.rs/en/milica-veskovic-andelkovic/ ). Milica is interested in the topics of contemporary population challenges, especially in migration, migrants’ network, migrants’ identity, indigenous population identity, migrants capital, diaspora, relationship between diaspora and Motherland and main condition for their successful cooperation. Also, she is familiar with the topic of social innovation. She is researcher and teacher within the Erasmus+ project 'GlocalEAST “Developing a new curriculum in Global Migration, Diaspora and Border Studies in East-Central Europe”, where she was a part of the team who developed curriculum for the courses within the module “Geopolitics of Migration”, In addition, Milica is local coordinator of the project Training and Education in Social Innovation (TESI) founded by INTERREG Adriatic-Ionian Adrion Programme. Furthermore, she was researcher and the national consultant, employed by Cabinet of the Minister without portfolio responsible for demography and population policy, Republic of Serbia, for the projects “Characteristics and attitudes of high qualified diaspora and returners” and a few other projects in area of demography and public policy. She is a member of the Demographic Society of Serbia as well as Sociological Association of Serbia.

Vladan Vidicki is Assistant Professor at the Department of Sociology at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Novi Sad. The field of his academic interest is the economic sociology of migration, where he particularly deals with research on migration and adaptation processes, economic inclusion of migrants, immigrant entrepreneurship, etc. For his Ph.D. research, he received the Ernst Mach Scholarship and spent four months as a visiting researcher at the Department of International Development at the University of Vienna. As of 2021, he is a board member of research network no. 17 "Work, Employment and Industrial Relations" within the European Sociological Association.
